Joel Barker is passionate about many things; God, family, and sports to name a few.
Joel fell in love with college football, 23 years ago, at the age of five. He grew up a diehard Tennessee Vols fan. Of his Vols fandom, Joel says, “Whenever I hear Rocky Top or see the ‘T’ forming, even to this day, I get goose bumps.”
Upon leaving his “rah-rah-fanboy” character behind, Joel became a Senior Writer at bleacherreport.com where he served as a National College Football Featured Columnist and Tennessee Vols Football Community Leader. During his two years at B/R, Joel covered National Signing Day events, the Big Orange Caravan, the '09 Chick-Fil-A Bowl, 2010 SEC Media Days, 2010 Music City Bowl. He has been covering college football for various publications and websites for 12 years.
A member of the Football Writers Association of America, Joel’s work has been published on LATimes.com, CBSSports.com, Tennessee.Rivals.com, askmen.com, ajc.com, GoVolsXtra.com, and knoxnews.com.
Joel is also a diehard Atlanta Braves and Indianapolis Colts fan.
