It seems like it’s been forever since the Flyers retained their first round pick at the NHL Entry Draft. Since the Pronger trade, the earliest draft selection the Flyers have had was in the third round.
This year appeared to be no different until Holmgren traded Jeff Carter to the Blue Jackets for the 8th overall pick, Jakub Voracek, and the 68th overall pick. A few months after The Hockey News gave the Flyers farm system the lowest grade league-wide, things are starting to look a little bit brighter. Here’s my take on who they should consider at this year’s draft.
