No one has a top 3 rotation stability?

Beckett, Lester, Dice-k? Duh

I said not many can match. The Red Sox can match up well, but the Yankees only play 19 out of the 162 against the Red Sox. It should be close race if there aren’t any injuries on both sides.

I have more, but I’ll save it for round two.

*it should be a close race (fixing typo)

BTW – I just flagged my own comment as inappropriate. Well played.

Starting Pitching and Power hitting is what it is all about Look at the A’s the last Decade…the A’s pay half of the salary’s of both your teams and still make the playoffs and almost a WS in 06’…Why?…Starting pitching and power hitting…But no question these two teams are the elite of MLB…Got to give the nod for NYY over Boston cause there Starting pitching is much better on paper!…

Welcome to the site boys! I like how this is starting already, I am a Rangers fan so I am waiting for the other two arguements but as long as you guys stay with it, this should be a lot of fun all season long!

Oh and by the way guys, there is a fan bowl about Larry Fitgerald right now that you should both listen and give your opinion either way. I’m not begging for votes, if you think Tito is right, vote for him but its heated and I am trying to see what everyone thinks about it.

I am pretty sure that in there I said that if they thought you were better then to vote for you homes…I just thought it was a damn good arguement and I wanted to see what everyone that is one here thought…

I will never ever bet on the Yankees rotation even if they did get the top 2 starters in free agency…It just brings back memories of Carl Pavano and Kevin Brown…

Carl Pavano and Kevin Brown have nothing to do with CC Sabathia, AJ Burnett, Chien Ming Wang, Andy Pettitte, Joba Chamberlain (and Phil Hughes, Alfredo Aceves, Phil Coke and Ian Kennedy waiting in the wings).

Some early projections support my thesis:

The always fun and completely subjective position by position:

Positional:
Jorge > Varitek
Teixeira > Youkilis
Pedoia > Cano
Jeter > Lowrie
A-Rod > Lowell
Swisher/Nady = Drew
Ellsbury/Baldelli > Gardner/Melky
Bay > Damon
Ortiz > Matsui

Pitching:
CC > Beckett
Dice-K > Burnett
Wang > Lester (debatable for sure)
Pettitte > Wakefield/Penny/Smoltz
Joba > Buckholz

Bullpen:
Mariano = Papelbon
Masterson > Marte
Okajima > Veras
Bruney & Ramirez = Delcarmen & Ramirez

Any feedback?

The only 2 that I would really argue on are Big Tex because he is a huge variable right now and Pettitte over any of those three. Pettitte is old and I don’t know how much he has left.

And isn’t Joba going back to the bullpen?

Rossnicknydailynewscom_normal
NYYSI posted over 3 years ago

There is no way that Joba goes back to the bullpen while Brian Cashman is still the GM (unless Joba faces significant injury as a starter and needs to be converted).

This one may end up a tie… A sign of things to come in the AL East in 2009?
