I wish I had more than a minute to debate this. Obviously you’re a Chicago guy, I’m a NY guy, we’ll both have our opinions (as we all will). I find it funny that until Chris Broussard at ESPN mentioned Chicago over and over, they were mentioned as a distant 3rd. Let’s say the Knicks sign a Bosh, or Amare, you can honestly tell me that Lebron, Rose (another ball dominant player), and Noah is better than Lebron, Bosh and Gallinari?? Even if there is an argument there, can you definitively say that the Bulls option is better? They have no coach, a front office in disarray, and average role players. If Noah is touted a future star, I can sure as hell say Gallinari is one as well. People seem to be forgetting that we can sign two of these guys. it’s quite possible to have 2 superstars and a roster full of complementary players. Look at the ’08 Celtics, before Rondo took off. It was the big 3 and 12 role players.

Regardless, it’s going to be very interesting come July 1st. One thing we can agree on, Lebron is gone.

Your logic why Lebron won’t go to Miami applies to the exact reason why he can’t go to Chicago. Rose is a ball dominant guard. Yes, he’s a PG so by definition he needs the ball in his hands, but he’s more of a scoring PG than a playmaker. The Knicks have Toney Douglas right now as point, and while he’s light years behind Rose, he’s a better defender and a pass first PG. You say Lebron loves all things MJ, well, so does most of the NBA. Hell, Kobe practically tailored every part of his game and persona around MJ, with the fist pump, the line drive jump shot, the nastiness to teammates, and he hasn’t played for the Bulls. It’s funny that people assume he’s going to Chicago (a theory only recently pumped up because of ESPN’s constant speculation about it), when nobody knows what Lebron is going to do. If we go by what Lebron has said, and only what has come out of his mouth, the evidence points to NY. Yes, this is only going by what he has said, but it’s all we have. When he visits NY, he talks about MSG like it’s a stage, his favorite place to play, the mecca, the history, etc. Why is it so far fetched the think he can come here, but it’s so clear that he’s going to Chicago. There is much more verbal evidence from Lebron himself that he prefers NY over Chicago. I’m not saying he’s clearly coming here, or not going there, but to laugh off NY and say it’s Cleveland or Chicago is ridiculous.
