The Eagles are nuts. They are going young fine but do they really want to watch McNabb win a Super Bowl in DC. If that happens everyone in Eagles management better start cleaning out their lockers. It was a win-win trade for both teams but really why to the Skins. Take less and send him to Buffalo

McNabb is 33 and has been regressing in his skills the last couple of years. If Philly was so anxious to trade him, do you really think they felt he could win anywhere else? Specifically, if he was so valuable, would they be so keen to trade him in conference? Obviously, Philly is rebuilding, and McNabb is not part of that process. He was great for them, but even on Philly’s best teams, he never won. Trust me, he’s not winning for Washington and who knows, Kolb could be just as good in that offense, and coupled with all those draft picks, Philly could end up the big winner here.

This has to be one of the dumbest trades I’ve seen in a long time…not only did he get undervalued, but to their division rivals? Seriously??? Something’s just not right there.

Undervalue? How are you determining value? You do not know what the Raiders, bills or Rams were offering. I am sure none of them were first rounders. While it was to a division rival, who cares as long as you get the most you could have. According to multiple reports the best they would have gotten for McNabb was a high second and that’s it. They got a 2nd and 3rd next year for him. If McNabb was 30 they could have asked for a 1st and possibly 2nd rounder, but he is going to be 34 next year. In the last three games of the season he was awful in 10 of the 12 quarters.
For value the 37th overall pick in this draft is equivalent to a first rounder this year. Most draft experts have 45 players with first round grades. The Eagles have Kolb who they believe will be as good next year as McNabb. If he plays well, they have giant holes on D. With the 24th pick, 375th, 55th they could get three defensive players that could start from day one. Or they could move up to get a player like Joe haden or Eric Berry with the 37th and 24th and still get another good player at 55. That is excellent value.
Again as for trading him to a divisional foe, they obviously know something about him to trade him there. They wouldn’t trade him if they knew he would hurt them long term. If you watched his last two games he threw wormburners and missed open receivers. I think McNabb is a potential Hall of Fame but let’s not kid ourselves this is 2010 not 2005 version of him.
