Brady can be in this argument, but I don’t think he gets the nod. There’s one thing Joe Montana owns on his resume that Brady never can:

Montana never lost a Super Bowl. 8-0.

And Montana had longevity on his side. He played for a long time and even led his other team, the Chiefs, to an afc championship game before he retired.

Brady is close, but he has a flaw on his record, and he doesn’t yet have the consistent stats to match with the other greats.

If he wins one or two more rings, then this argument changes. But you could say the same if Brees wins or one two more, or if Favre ended his career with a SB win, or even two.

Right now, though, Montana has to be the best.

All I got to say is Joe Montana’s signature play is when he hit Dwight Clark in the back of the end zone to beat the mighty Dallas Cowboys and went on to win 4 Super Bowls… Where Tom Brady’s signature play is when the Raiders Charles Woodson batted the ball out his hands causing a fumble then 10 minutes after review was overturned and called a incomplete pass and he went on to win 3 Super Bowls… You tell me who had the better looking career…. Pats fan is an interesting character though. If you tell them that Manning is better than Brady, they scream “Stats are for losers! Rings are all that matters!” But if you tell them Montana is better than Brady, they start cherry-picking stats and disregard the rings.
