Ernie Sims absolutely better than Ray Lewis? I laughed out loud at that. Ernie Sims racked up alot of tackles playing on a very bad defense, behind a poor defensive line. He has speed, but and can hit, but he’s in the wrong spot alot of time, and has poor reads. If I had to pick one, I’d pick Mike Singletary, but it’s not an easy, Lewis is an animal!

You can bring up “all pro” all you want….that means NOTHING in the NFL…pro-bowls and all-pros are usually based on names and past performances. All-Pro supposedly means the guy is the best at his position. Mike Vrabel got all-pro 2 years ago, and he certainly wasnt the best in the NFL at his position, and im a Patriots fan. Again, great player, but clearly not as great anymore, as was proved by no interest whatsoever by any other team in the offseason.

It means nothing because it means nothing to you and doesn’t support your position. You have nothing to back up your claims about All-Pro selection. Vrabel got one based on 12.5 sacks that season. Does it mean he deserved it? The AP thought so. What you and I think don’t matter.
For greatest MLB all time it’s Lewis slightly over Singletary.
Again, he got no other offers due to his age and price tag. Both the Jets and Cowboys went younger instead of pursuing him. He was more valuable to Baltimore and they recognized that value with his last big payday.

again, if he was “the best” at his position in the NFL, there would have been interest, no matter the age or price tag.

But what you think does? To you maybe, it’s your opinion. But everything you’ve said against him has nothing to do with him as a player.
You just want to discount criteria like All-Pro because you just don’t like Ray Lewis. And that’s fine. You don’t have to like him. But his game between the lines speaks for itself.
He’s the best MLB ever to play the game.
I threw in the best in 2009 as an addendum and it is much more debatable. But the claim is best of all-time.

Alright now we’re talking. Singletary is the only other player in this debate. He has just as many accolades and how can you not love “The stare”. I still put Lewis slightly ahead due to longevity of career and sure he has a great defensive line but Singletary had great players around him too in the “46”.
As for right now I like Willis. He’s got a bright future. But Lewis was an All-Pro last year with only Jon Beaston from Carolina as the other choice at ILB. Willis was 2nd team. Lewis continues to thrive on the field even in his 14th season. He’ll probably play at least two more seasons to add to his HOF career.
