Very good yes. Though he isn’t the best scorer, he controls the point well and dishes with the best of him. What put him over the top for me this season is his defense. Which evens out his inability to score. So for this one I agree with Tito.

Did those words really come out of my mouth?

Grogan, never use the word “clearly” unless it is “clear.” How can you say that Rondo is “clearly” a better passer than any other point guard in the league when he “clearly” is fourth among point guards in the NBA in assists? He is also not “clearly” the best rebounding point guard in the league since he does fall to fifth in that statistic. He is 13th among PGs in scoring, and not even among the top-30 in three-point shooting or free throw shooting.

Rondo is a hell of a player and has played a hell of a series against my Cavs. But one series does not make a career. The matchup against one of the league’s worst defensive point guards in Mo Williams has caused Boston fans to over-hype Rondo’s status and call him the “best point guard in the league” – which is nothing new for Boston fan. Don’t fall into the trap of thinking that Rondo is the best just yet…Williams has a way of making point guards across the NBA appear as if they are an all-star. Did anyone see Rafer Alston against the Cavs in the playoffs last year?

Cleveland fan-ummmm..its not just “this series”…..in the regular season he led the league in steals, shot 50% from the field, averaged 10 assists a game, and was the Celtics best player…..thanks for playing though….bye

Grogan-ummmm…in the regular season he averaged 13 points, 4.4 rebounds, shot 21% from beyond the arc, and shot 62% from the line… he’s just not in the class of D.Williams, Nash, Billups and Paul…you’re playing…you’re just not very good at it.

So…whats wrong with 13 points when you are the third option? and you shoot 50 percent from the field?….whats also wrong with 4.4 rebounds for a little guy???? Rondo had a great regular season..not just against Mo Williams…actually, he was an all star this year….so yeah, shut up…how bout then Cavs to night Bro…sucks that in James last home game in Cleveland ever he let you born losers down.

Grogan…as a Clevelander, my father raised me to hate the Yankees as the “Evil Empire,” and the Steelers and the Pistons as our natural rivals. And yet…I somehow hate all Boston teams more. Do you know why? Because I have had the misfortune in my life of sitting next to Bostonians at games. They seem to believe in their own little world that they are somehow superior if the team that happens to play in their city is winning…yet they have the inability to see how moronic they look when they make idiotic, non-objective statements like “Rondo is the best point guard in the NBA.” No doubt it hurts to see my basketball team go down without a fight…but my self worth comes from my own accomplishments in life and those of my children…unlike a loser like you.

Tito makes the dumbest arguments. One triple double and he’s the game’s best?

The guy clearly benefits from a great (albeit aging) supporting cast.

Deron Williams is better. Steve Nash can’t play defense, and is still better.

Derrick Rose isn’t far behind, and he might even be better. He’s definitely talented enough.

Rondo is a great passer and rebounder at the position, but he can’t shoot the ball at an elite level like D Will and Nash, and he isn’t a well-rounded offensive player yet. He relies on athleticism and driving far too much to be the best.

CAN he be the best? Absolutely. But he’s not there yet.
