no way the punishment should fit the severity of the injury. This is such a ridiculous argument and situation. Chara hit the guy cleanly, clearly there was no intent, the guy just happened to bounce off a poorly designed portion of the rink in just the right (or wrong) way. Why would you punish Chara for that at all? The hit was clean, it was legal, there were no issues like that. Honestly, the 5 minutes in the penalty box was probably too much punishment for this particular crime. Where was all this reaction last year when Savard was put out for much of the year due to a dirty play by…damn I don’t follow hockey closely enough, lol, but you know what I mean.
