Tito is right. You risk alienating the younger players because of jealousy from the older vets. Thats the problem of not having guarantees on your contracts.
They need a salary cap for sure, The Draft is the Lotto for these guys, it used to be the draft was a dream come true to play pro-football and be somebody, now it’s how big is my lotto ticket so I can pose for pictures buy me a fur coat get a posse and play like a chump on sunday and not care cause your bank account is plum full, and the fans (like me) will continue to be idiots and keep paying their salary for them to wear a fur coat and take a crap on the field on Sunday!.

Surprisingly I have to agree with Tito here. There needs to be something to limit the amounts. How it is regulated or how it is set up is up for smarter people then me to decide but with the Staffords and Sanchez’s of the world making so much guaranteed it really hinders the balance in the league. I don’t think it is the biggest issue facing the league but it something they need to look into.
…………..
And don’t think for one second that the veterans don’t want a cap. The 10 year vets making less than a rookie are surely looking to include some sort of rookie cap in the next CBA.
