His health has never been a question mark for him. It’s his ability to pitch to the best of his abilities in clutch situations in high profile places. He has very good stuff and eats up innings like a fat kid eats cake, but has found failure before while in New York and in Chicago when they needed him most. Vazquez is a low-key guy who excels in low-key situations and the Yankees are in the thick of it every year. Making this a questionable move.

As long as you want a guy who eats up innings, but never comes through when the stakes are at the highest. Didn’t they already try this experiment in New York? It didn’t work then and in all likelihood won’t this time either. Javy is a low key guy who excels in low-key situations and small markets. He failed in New York, improved in Arizona, flopped in Chicago when the lights were the brightest and then re-emerged when he was under the radar in Atlanta. The spotlight is the brightest in New York and even more so when you don the Yankee pinstripes, so don’t get to excited.
