Not playing him in OT has nothing to do with their confidence in him. When you haven’t played a game in almost 2 years (throw away the 20 min he played this year, it’s meaningless), you are going to lose your legs a bit. D’Antoni has already said he is the team’s best player, which is he, and it’s clear they have confidence in him. The garden was electric last night for the first time in years and I think while not as explosive as he used to be, he can definitely re-invent his game a la Jordan when he came back from his layoff. I’m not comparing Jordan to T-Mac, but the cases are similar. As a Knicks fan, I’m excited to see what he can bring and I think he’ll definitely average over 20ppg. Whether or not he is here in 2010-2011 remains to be seen, but if they can snag Lebron, he’ll have to consider signing here for little money.
I’m a HUGE t-mac fan, but he’s done, he doesn’t even play for the love of the game anymore (not really sure if he ever did outside of highschool) but rather for his pay check. He’ll prob. try to cash in a couple more times depending on how long of a contract he gets next time around.
