Heat don’t even win their division and will not have best record in the East

Crazyness…the Heat will dominate, at least this year. The power struggle may eventually consume the team but for now they’re the best in the NBA.

The last team to win an NBA championship without a dominant big was Jordan’s Bulls. Before that you had the Pistons (big all around w/ rodman, mahorn, laimbeer) the Celtics (bird, mchale, parrish), and the 79 Sonics (the only champ that didn’t have a top 50 guy on their roster; Jack Sikma, Gus Williams and DJ were the core).

I’m not saying they won’t win, just that history shows you need a dominant big. Or Jordan. Do Wade+LeBron=Jordan? Maybe. But it’s no guarantee. The funny thing to me is that LBJ went to Miami to play with his friends, and then brought Z down with him, and that could be Miami’s achilles heel – Z will get destroyed in the east, especially if he’s playing significant minutes.

Oh, and yes. I am saying Bosh is not a dominant big. He’s good. Maybe bordering on becoming underrated since everyone is now saying he’s overrated since he got all this FA attention. But he can’t hang in a playoff series against bigger toughter opponents. Rashard Lewis, KG, Horford are all guys that will give him trouble.

Look, the Heat are definitely the favorites, but there is no guarantee in the NBA.
