I have ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEM when a fight takes place at the end of a play or after a big hit. What I have a problem with is what happened Friday night in Philly.

The teams in question were Manchester and Philly. They play 2 times a season. They ARE NOT RIVALS! They fought 2 seconds into the game. WHY? NOTHING COULD HAVE HAPPENED TO WARRANT A FIGHT!!

I do not want to get rid of fighting cause I partially agree with BigTito. Yes the cheap shots would be worse without fighters there and I am not saying to get rid of them or fighting. BUT something has to happen to keep the integrity of the game.

Oh and as to Tito’s comments about the high school kids dying from heat exhaustion. Does that mean that the school and coach shouldn’t be looked at to see what happened and maybe something changed? I know if it was my kid out there passing out because it is too hot to be running sprints that I would be pissed and wouldn’t want to see it. Most kids in high school aren’t playing in college or the NFL, they are there to have fun and compete. There is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON to ACCEPT death during a sporting event!

Hockey is Hockey Tito, you’re absolutely right but when you come out two seconds into a game and start throwing hands then you aren’t a hockey player anymore, you are a boxer. If you want to fight after 2 seconds then give me your stick and go fight in the octagon or the ring.

I cant believe grown men are crying about pre-meditated hpockey fights….take the skirt off for Christ sakes…i would personally LOVE to see a premeditated fight 2 seconds into a game, and so would 95 percent of hockey and sports fans…dont kid yourself. I never said I ever get mad about a fight. I understand what they are doing. That doesn’t mean it shouldn’t change. I also didn’t mind that players in baseball were taking steroids…if they want to ruin their bodies then why should we stop them. BUT I think the rules need to be in place to protect the youths out there.

I could care less about these guys getting paid to fight. They know what they are doing. BUT the kids in the junior leagues in Canada that are watching and thinking it is cool to fight is another story. Just like the high school kids using steroids to get bigger cause the major leaguers are doing it…there are kids in Canada that think they have to fight in order to play hockey.

Is there a place for fighting and fighters in hockey – ABSOLUTELY! I do enjoy the fights. I never said I didn’t. But it has to be somewhat restricted just like hits with the helmet in the NFL have to be. As players get bigger and stronger things have to change.

And honestly I don’t go to games to see a fight. I go to see actual hockey.

Hockey is a cool sport I love it my Sharks are one of the best and have Been knocking on championship door for the last couple of seasons this year they’ll do it again hopefully they can take it but the Red Wings will be tough!

I am a Caps guy but I have always been a Roenick fan so I hope he gets his name on the Cup.

well, What do you think?…Do they a legit shot I mean they are behind Detroit in points but have the best record in the NHL, So I think they have a really good shot!. Well see thou the playoffs are a WHOLE different season and especially in the later rounds is where the Sharks have come close but can’t get over the hump!. This year I think will be different!

I really wish I had a chance to vote. Who the hell would wanna restrict hockey fights? I agree with Grogan, take of your skirts! Hockey player police their game with fighting, take it out of the game and superstars are going to get smashed! Let’s get ride of the instigator penalty too!
