What I’m saying is, Marte can take over the lefty set up man position. Also, Granderson had 30hrs in Comerica Park, what do you think he’ll do at Yankee Stadium?
Also, one bad year and you are ready to say he isn’t a good addition to the outfield? He’s 28, Damon is like 36-37, it’s a good move and you know it.
As far as the Yankees never making deadline deals, you are just wrong on that one. They have made deadline deals before, just not blockbuster deals because they haven’t had to.
2000: David Justice
2003: Aaron Boone
2007: Jose Molina
Might not seem like big deals, but they never had to make drastic mid season changes. They have been able to make off season deals for Clemens, Arod, so if you are saying that trading away Austin Jackson absolutely hinders their ability to make the team better in the future in any capacity, you’re kidding yourself.
