this goofball on the left was too busy watching his lil wwe matchup to pay attention to real football…the computers have Oregon/Oklahoma… I completely agree that newton is a huge threat, and the schedule is more favorable, but i gotta go with da bayoublitz on this one, chump

Name calling is a good start. That usually helps an argument. With that said, the computers are right as of now in terms of who should be 1 and 2, but with Oregon still having a number of solid opponents left, including UCLA, USC in the coliseum, Arizona, and Oregon State or Corvallis, it’s not an easy road for Oregon. Oklahoma has a BIG matchup this week against Mizzou, and after that should be favored in all their games until the showdown against OSU at the end of the season. The advantage the Ducks might have over both Auburn and Oklahoma though is that they don’t have a conference title game to trip up in. It’ll be interesting to watch down the stretch, but I stand by my Auburn pick. I do think there is something about this Auburn team that has led them to an undefeated record so far and I think it holds up.

As for the little WWE shot, you should avoid those without provocation. I have followed college football for a long, long time. I do not come into this without intimate knowledge of the game. If you’d like to know where that comes from other than simply being a fan from home, hit me up privately.

Hey mouth, for the record when I talk college football no disrespect is meant, I hope that is understood. I am very passionate about the sport, and I love a good college football arguement. I have had college football websites since I was 11. and I recently became a writer for a big local website so I gave it up. I just wanted to make it clear that I have respect for you, and if I get loud it is because I get very excited about a good college football arguement. No hard feelings.

You have my respect. You made an argument and stuck with it. I have no problem with that. I too am a passionate college football fan (UF guy, though you definitely wouldn’t know that from this debate!) It’s hard for me to talk about Auburn in a shining light when they have a former Gator leading them (Cam Newton). With that said, one of my fondest moments in the swamp involves Auburn, when in 2003 we blocked an Auburn kick to send it into overtime and Kelvin Kight caught a 19 yard TD pass for the win. One of the best games I’ve ever been at! Still, I think this might be their year. If nothing else, I’m really looking forward to their matchup Saturday against LSU. Should be a good one!

Definately should be a good one. Sorry about Florida, must be a tough year for you guys. Like I said though it just seems to me that LSU can afford to load the box and do whatever they need to do to be able to stop this Auburn run game. LSU has arguably the best secondary in the country and Auburn really hasn’t shown much of a passing game. With that being said, the real key match-up is contrary to what most people are saying. The key match-up is a struggling Auburn defense vs a struggling LSU offense. I think it is going to be hard for either of these teams to go undefeated. LSU still has to face Arkansas away and Alabama at home. Auburn still has to going into Alabama. This year is such a toss up, its hard to say anyone is better than anyone at this point.

I was with you until you called Georgia an “easy win.” You see, UGA is a raising team and I believe that they will win the East. Aaron Murray is star in the making, their running game is getting better, and AJ Green is still the best receiver in college football. The Bulldogs are not a team you should overlook. I’m actually calling for them to upset Auburn… I don’t even like Georgia, I just know a good team when I see one.

You forget that Georgia has been plodding and slow on defense. Everyone loves to bring up A.J. Green when talking about Georgia, and for good reason, but does 1 player make a team? The best wide receiver I saw in college was Larry Fitzgerald, and his teams lost plenty of games. Why? The rest of the team was mediocre. Same with Georgia. I don’t think they are easy, but I certainly don’t think you could put them on the level of LSU or Alabama right now and that’s what I meant in my argument.

As far as Georgia winning the east, those dreams may end next week. Florida has been notoriously good under Urban Meyer when they’ve had more than 1 week to prepare for a game. I know this team isn’t as good as others, but I think you’ll see Florida come out strong against Georgia. Good chance they beat them.
