So the New York Yankees continue to add some potential bench players for the upcoming season. According to the New York Post's Dan Martin, the Yanks signed first baseman Russell Branyan to a minor league deal and a spring training invite. Although Branyan's a powerful left handed hitter this should not affect the Yankees interest in signing Johnny Damon, Hideki Matsui, or Raul Ibanez. If Branyan begins the 2012 season on the Yankees roster he will add some pop off the bench and give Tex the occasional day off.
