Johnny Damon: According to Joel Sherman from the NY Post HERE, there a belief that Johnny Damon will make a serious run for 3000 hits and has altered his plate approach to accomplish that. Currently Damon sits at 2723. I'd be curious to see if Damon could latch on to teams for the next few years to accomplish this feat. You would think Damon would have been signed by now by anyone, but it's clear his price tag of $5 million a year is just too steep for teams, including the Yankees. That being said, I still believe the Yankees could sign the guy if they move AJ Burnett.
