I've attended a few Ohio Bobcat football games over the past 18 years. Almost every time I've had a great time.
Mid-American football isn't top shelf, but it's underrated. But what I received in today's mail—something very similar to this photo—is a tough sell folks.
Here's what it says: MAC East Champs + 4 Returning All-Americans + #1 Defense in Turnovers Nationally = FUN!
The price is palpable but the schedule is underwhelming. You can get Ohio's six-game home schedule for as little as $88 (and get a $40 food and merchandise package with all new season ticket orders).
If you want to pony up $115 (plus a $75 per seat donation) you can be part of the Touchdown Club.
Those are fair prices. Just ask the Eye who has to fork over $70 for each Ohio State game.
At least in Columbus you get a few good games. You know what you get in Athens this fall? The most boring home schedule ever. Here's how it looks:
Sept. 4: Wofford
Sept. 11: Toledo
Oct. 9: Bowling Green
Oct. 16: Akron
Oct. 30: Louisiana-Lafayette
Nov. 4: Buffalo
Does that sound like a lot of fun?
