A bad Red Wings streak has seemed to ended. The Red Wings, now winners of 3 straight, pulled off a big win in Tampa, against a great Bolts team, with Yzerman as GM. Here is the recap:
First period had a few goals, all by the Wings. The first came at 6:40, a power play goal by Danny Cleary, his 18th. The Wings scored another quick one at 14:57 on Pavel Datsyuks 15th of the season, bringing the score to 2-0 going to the second period
Scoring didn't come early, it came late in the second period. The Bolts struck first, with Victor Hedman's 3rd, and Steve Downies 8th, at 11:51, and 14:38 of the second to tie it up. But the tie didn't last long at all, as 2 minutes later, Kronwall scored his 10th on a power play, and Abdelkader scored his 4th at 18:00. The Wings entered the 3rd with a lead.
The thrid was a drown out crowd for the Bolts, as Datsyuk scored at 11:39, and then the 6th goal was scored by Darren Helm at 18:09.
The victory was a major boost for the Wings, who plan to possibly make a run at the West's top.
