I immediately want to apologize for that headline. Sorry. Okay? Maybe "hates" isn't the right word. It certainly isn't a word Tom Osborne would use. And, it isn't very "Nebraskan" of me to write. But what other word would you use to describe the emotion of a man who was constantly at odds with an institution and constantly on the losing side of arguments and votes? Wouldn't that grow and fester in to something like hate? I think so. And, when you consider how often that exact thing has happened to Osborne when it comes to the Big 12, it is not too terribly surprising why Nebraska might be inclined to listen to overtures from the Big 10.
