If you are a Nets fan you know how good and talented a Center Brook Lopez is.
Brook Lopez is the most skillful offensive big man the league has seen in awhile. His ability to hit the mid range jumper and use his 290 pound body to break down his defender near the glass makes him almost impossible to shut down.
This season the Nets acquired future Hall of Famers Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett, not to mention former all stars Jason Terry and Andrei Kirilenko.
Billy King put together what was supposed to be the greatest Nets team ever assembled in hopes of winning a championship.
Unfortunately its been an injury riddled season for the Nets with Deron Williams, Jason Terry, Paul Pierce, Andrei Kirilenko and Kevin Garnett all missing time. Last Friday the Nets suited up to play the 76ers.
In the third Q of the game Brook collided with Thaddeus Young which didn't seem like anything huge considering Brook got up without a problem and continued to play thru what was later diagnosed as a broken foot.
The news broke Saturday morning December 21st that Brook Lopez would be shut down for the rest off the season. Seeing as that Brook Lopez was probably there best player and there biggest offensive threat this injury will most certainly hurt the Nets chances to make some noise in the playoffs.
Although Brook was arguably the top center in the east his backup Andray Blatche is probably the best big men coming off the bench in the east. Blatche was a starter in Washington before things turned south but many people forget how good Blatche can really be.
