There is always a story in Washington, and with the Redskins. Down 6, 25-31 to the Detroit Lions with 2:10 left in the game, Mike Shanahan pulls their starting quarterback Donavan McNabb, who they traded for this off season, for Rex Grossman. Shanahan after the game said Donavan McNabb, didn't know 2 minute offense as good as Grossman. And then Monday said McNabb isn't in good enough physical condition to run the 2 minute offense.
"The cardiovascular endurance that it takes to run a two-minute, going all the way down with no timeouts, calling plays, it's just not easy." Shanahan said. "If I thought it was the best situation to do, then Donovan would have run the two-minute offense."
On Grossman's very first play, he was sacked, fumbled, and it was returned for a Lions touchdown by Ndamukang Suh. The Lions went on to win 37-25.
What is going on with the Redskins? McNabb lead the Redskins in rushing and to 25 points on Sunday, and then getting pulled for a lesser quarterback is mind blowing to me. There is going to be more to this story, and with the Redskins bye week this week, this story is going to be talked about for the next 2 weeks. Stay Tuned.
