I should be upset. Really I should considering that my Oilers just lost 6-1 tonight thanks to a Jarome Iginla hat trick but with the Anaheim Ducks pounding the San Jose Sharks 6-2 tonight, Calgary will be officially eliminated from playoff contention (by the time I'm finished this blog I'm sure the Sharks-Ducks game will be over)! Nik Khabibulin had another awful night in net for the Copper and Blue but I'm able to go to sleep happy tonight knowing that our southern rivals will only be able to enjoy playoff hockey if they watch it on TV.
The Oilers have now clinched 30th place in the NHL but hey, another #1 or possibly #2 draft pick for us! Our future just keeps on getting brighter bringing in young guns that will electrify Edmonton for years to come whether it be Adam Laarson, or Ryan Nugent-Hopkins or which ever top 5 projected player we take in the draft this summer in Minnesota. Calgary? Mid 1st round pick for them. So like the title says, we may have lost but the Oilers have won.
