Former University of Iowa student and longtime NBC news anchor Tom Brokaw, former Iowa basketball coach C. Vivian Stringer and a few others will all be honored at commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 15.

Stringer, a 2009 inductee into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame (along side Michael Jordan), was the women's basketball coach at Iowa from 1983-1995.

She was the first coach ever to lead three different schools to the NCAA Final Four (Cheyney, 1982; Iowa, 1993; Rutgers, 2000, 2007) and is the third winningest coach in womenâs basketball history (843 wins).
