The first and only coach in the history of the USF football program has been fired. Jim Leavitt was let go Friday morning largely due to allegations surrounding the incident with Joel Miller at halftime of the Louisville game. With disappointing finishes to the last few seasons and an inability to lead the Bulls to the next step, the end may have been only a season or two away for Leavitt anyway, but the incident and its subsequent investigation led to his removal now.Leavitt leaves USF as the most successful coach in program history (that’s kind of how it works when you’re the only coach in program history) with a record of 94-57.
