Undisputed: How To Win a Dance Competition While Your Peers Are Going to Wrestlemania!

Chris Jericho is returning to TV.....................to dance.

The last we spoke of Jericho was when I saw him two weeks ago at an autograph signing.  Perhaps the flamboyant strut and tight outfit should have clued me into this development,  but honestly, who would have guessed that Jericho's next move would be this?

I know he probably had some screws knocked loose when Randy Orton punted him out of the WWE back in September, but dancing?  The guy is a wrestler and heavy metal singer; I would think this is quite the opposite of what we'd expect from the 9 time Intercontinental Champion.

Then again, that's probably why he's doing it.  Branching out and trying new things has been the modus operandi on Jericho ever since we've come to know him.  From wrestling to music to game shows, to books, he's found himself participating in most walks of life.  Now, it's time to stop walking and start dancing!

I think the toughest thing for wrestling fans is that the announcement comes in the midst of the road to Wrestlemania.  At this time last year, Chris Jericho was the World Heavyweight Champion.  This year, he's announcing his intentions to become the Ayatollah of Swing and Salsa!  Quite a change, but at the same time, this might be a great thing for WWE.

While the WWE has been represented on this show before (by Maria Kanellis directly and Stacy Keibler as a former employee), but this is the first time a major star will be doing so.  It is uncertain at this time whether Chris Jericho will return to the WWE, but every interview that has broached this question has garnered the same answer.  Chris Jericho believes that at some point he will wrestle for the WWE again.  Thus, I have no choice but to believe him.

This endeavor will probably get Jericho some ribbing from the boys when he does return, but if he promotes himself and the WWE in a positive light, this can be very good for business.  Despite not being a fan of this show, I understand it's popularity.  Heck, my mom and sister both watch it and talk about it at our Sunday dinners!  It reaches a lot of people, and the publicity WWE could get from it is huge.  Let's just hope that Jericho's dancing is a little better than the clip below.

This clip is from the year 2000 and I was actually at this show in New York.  Here's to hoping Jericho has learned a few moves since then!
