UAB's First Recruiting Class With Garrick McGee is Fantastic
UAB started this year 1-7 with Neil Callaway and because of his overall record 14-42 at UAB, he was fired. UAB sensored their coaching pursuit on Garrick McGee who was the then the offensive coordinator at Arkansas. After the UAB's signing of Coach McGee, he came in thinking he could make this program great. He said how he would get recruits to come to this great school, he said he would help make this team as sharp as possible, and he said their team play would get people to go watch the games. He then had to recruit and his key recruiting strategy was to get the local Birmingham prospects to stay in Birmingham. Larry Pettaway and Kelton Bracket were their best signings and because they are better prospects then we've ever seen at UAB, it gives many of us hope that we can be great.
