Two More Releases......Does it Matter?

I was about to go to bed, but I made a promise to my readers, and I intend to keep every promise I make. This is chopping block season, and I promised I would keep you up to date with every release. We've been through 3 already, but today brought two more. Let's examine the recently departed.......from the WWE.
Charlie Haas - This one should come as no surprise as the guy has been on TV about as often as Amy Winehouse is sober. The last time Haas was somewhat relevant, he was parodying other wrestlers on Raw. While that gimmmick was entertaining, he never really got a shot in the WWE despite excellent mat wrestling skills. The former collegiate athlete will be a draw on the independent scene, and may latch on with TNA as well. In an interview a while back, Kurt Angle claimed that TNA could do a lot with Haas. Whether that is true or not remains to be seen, but the pattern I'm noticing is that I'm mentioning a lot of these guys potentially ending up in TNA, but how many new talents can they possibly sign? At some point, will they release all their talents and just employ old WWE talent? I hope that's not the case, but it seems that every release, people (including me) will find a way to link the performer to TNA.
Referee Scott Armstrong -This one comes as a surprise to some as he is very well respected backstage and even was involved in an angle with CM Punk and the Undertaker just a few months ago. The thing is, referees can only do so much, and this longtime stalwart probably gained too much of a name to garner too high of a paycheck for merely a referee. WWE felt the money would be better utilized on wrestling talent, and they pulled the plug. I feel bad for the guy, but at the same time, in terms of his value to the company, it's not that important. As far as I know, he's not a road agent, not a trainer, not anything but a referee. This loss means little. With that said, he is the brother of the man known to some as Road Dogg and to others ad BG James, so perhaps they will unite somewhere and get back into wrestling together. Even if he latches on somewhere, it wont' be newsworthy. I'm sorry to say, but referees are like Rodney Dangerfield: they get no respect at all!
So two more have bitten the dust. I warned that the cuts will be coming fast, and they will continue for a while. So far, there's been a bit of surprise with the releases. Let's just hope that no surprises moving forward are too big that they are actually detrimental to the organization.
