Here's a little song parody sung to the tune of Rick Nelson's 1972 hit "Garden Party".

If you're not familiar with the melody here's a nice You Tube rendition of it:

====================================

I went to a Citi Mets game

Came out to see my team

Thought we had a winner

But it was just a dream

I saw that Ike was still at first

What was up with that?

It was April so I knew the guy'd

Do nothing with the bat

But it's alright now

I've learned my lesson well

If the Wilpons own the team

Y'know they'll play like hell

Over on the other side

There was David Wright

At least at one position

The chances there were bright

Catching that day's pitcher

Was Travis d'Arnaud

This year's when we find out

If he'll hit here in the show

But it's alright now

I've learned my lesson well

If the Wilpons own the team

Y'know they'll play like hell

Looking up the middle

There's Ruben, Dan, and Juan

One of them can hit the ball

The others hanging on.

It's Grandy in the outfield

And Chris Young's out there too

For 22 million dollars

Let's hope they have a clue

But it's alright now

I've learned my lesson well

If the Wilpons own the team

Y'know they'll play like hell

The pitcher wasn't Harvey

He's injured - out all year

We Mets fans have to suck it up

Try not to shed a tear

If you opt to go to Citi

I wish you a lot of luck

Hope you go when they play OK

'Cause mostly they will suck.

But it's alright now

I've learned my lesson well

If the Wilpons want to help the fans

Then what they'll do is sell.
