Things that make me sick to my stomach:
Hines Ward will be released from the Steelers.

This breaks my heart.
Ward has always been one of the faces of the franchise.
Seeing him in anything but black and yellow feels wrong.
But the Steelers are in cost cutting mode and Ward is expensive.

So is Wallace, who they aren’t franchise tagging, and may be leaving too.

The release of Ward is more than just cost cutting.
They didn’t even offer to renegotiate.
He’s 35 and recently overtaken by Wallace and Brown.
He’s been with the Steelers since ‘98 (sound familiar??)
Maybe this is it.
Maybe he retires and stays the smiling face of a former Steeler.
He doesn’t have anything left to prove after all.

With a 1000 catches and multiple superbowls under his belt.. he’s a superstar. The whole league knows it.
“I gave my heart and soul for (the fans) every down and I will always bleed black-and-gold,” Ward said.
Next stop? Hall of Fame.
