There Should Have Been .6 Seconds Not .4 On Clock - Photo Proof

The Knicks played great tonight hosting the power house Boston Celtics but it wasn't great enough as they fell 118-116.  Amar'e Stoudemire played amazing again with 39 points, 10 boards, 3 blocks and 1 steal.  However, his jumper with about 12 seconds left rattled in and out and the Celtics had their shot to win it.

Paul Pierce then did his usual Paul Pierce thing and nailed a jumper in Stoudemire's face with under a second remaining.  He then celebrated by doing a lap around the court taunting the Knicks bench....I'm sorry that's not worth a technical foul for taunting refs?

So their was now .4 seconds left and Amar'e Stoudemire nailed a three pointer at the buzzer buuut it was waved off because time had already expired.  However, there actually should have been .6 seconds left on the clock if you look at the picture to your left.  Therefore Stoudemire's shot should have counted and the Knicks should have won buuuuut it does not matter now that the Celtics have the W.

It really was amazing to see the Garden be the Garden again the place was rocking and the Knicks responded.  Was it the 90s tonight?  It was crazy the celebrities were out, the Knicks were playing great and they were being lead by a big man - it was Deja vu all over again.

However on to the negatives - the Knicks should have kept their lead as they were out scored in the fourth quarter 35-26.  This game should not have come down to the last seconds but that's what happens when you play a team as great as the Boston Celtics.  Even Paul Pierce admitted after the game that the Knicks have arrived.

I'm not big on moral victories because they mean nothing but if they follow this up with a win against LeBron Shames, D-Wade and Rupaul I'll be OK with this "moral victory."

A special thanks to my buddy Adam "Blanco" Sanchez for hooking me up with this picture.
