Hey Folks, if you can guess by the title of the blog Im talking about my trip to Canton, Ohio for the Pro Football Hall of Fame inductions. This year was a bit more interesting than the usual time of 5 hours to Canton from Toronto. This time on the trip, it was myself, my dad and our friend Ian from Trinidad coming along with us, everything was smooth sailing until we got to the US border and I realized that in my bag was...my moms passport.
We were stopped and had to wait in the waiting area for about 50 minutes and were checked, we were thankfully eventually told we could cross the border and told to have the passport next time (boy did we dodge a bullet!). Once in Canton for the induction ceremonies, I realized one of two things, 1. Its incredible to be able to have some of the greatest people that have ever played football to be in front of you and 2. Everything truly is bigger in America! To a Canadian kid from Alberta being able to get two full chicken breasts dipped in lime sauce surrounded by nachos on the plate for $20 at Chilis is insanity but not to those who enjoy eating it and have become bigger as a result. The ceremony was excellent as Emmit Smith, Jerry Rice, Ricky Jackson, Dick Lebeau, Floyd Little, John Randle (Mr.eye black that scared me when ever I played the Playstation 1 game NFL Xtreme 2 that he was on the cover of) and Russ Grimm went into the hall. We shot recaps of the inductees that will be aired later but day 1 of Canton was not done yet. After the inductions, we had to find something to eat and Canton was not exactly full of places open late.... Read Part 2 coming shortly!
