The Boston Celtics are going to be different next year and I expect Ray Allen and Paul Pierce to leave the Celtics for good. Who should Boston go after in Free Agency?
Two players that could fit in Boston are Richard Jefferson and Shaquille O'Neal. Both could start for Boston if Paul Pierce leaves for good and Kendrick Perkins just had knee surgery. Perkins isn't suppose to be back till Christmas next season.
Shaquille O'Neal is 38 years old, but he could still play as a starting center in the NBA. He could start for the Celtics until Christmas while Kendrick Perkins is rehabbing from knee surgery.
Then, Richard Jefferson is six years younger then Paul Pierce and could start for them the whole season. He still can score at any time and would fit nicely in Boston.
Both O'Neal and Jefferson aren't even close to being deserving for the max contract, so the Celtics would not use much money signing both of these guys.
If the Celtics do sign Shaq and Jefferson, I wouldn't be mad they did that. It fills big needs for them and could lead them to a 6 or 7 seed in the Eastern Conference.
Boston would have a new version of the big three with Pierce and Allen gone. Shaquille O'Neal and Richard Jefferson would look good in a Celtics uniform.
