A little more than a month ago, a lot of Texas Longhorns fans were pretty upset with their team after they dropped the ball on a massive scale, losing to BYU 40-21. The following week, they lost to Ole Miss 44-23. At the time, fans were outraged. Some were even calling for an end to head coach Mack Brown's career as a Longhorn.
Since that time, however, the Horns appear to have turned things around. Three wins in a row, including a big one over their bitter rivals, and the #12 ranked team in the nation at the time, the Oklahoma Sooners.
Despite the two losses, this could still end up being a great season for the horns. They have a couple easier games coming up against TCU and Kansas, which should result in wins. After that, they have a tough schedule against West Virginia, #19 Oklahoma State, #10 Texas Tech and #8 Baylor to finish the season.
That is a nightmare stretch for most teams, but if the Horns can pull off wins against these teams, they'll have completed an incredibly tough close to the season, and should be ranked well within the Top 25. Expect Texas Longhorns football tickets to be flying off the shelf for those last couple of games.
With the moment gained from the win over Oklahoma, there should be no more gloom and doom for this team. Here's to the remainder of the Horns season.
