On the newest episode of The League they brought up some very important issues.
Firstly how do you deal with a tie, does "home" team win, based on bench points, accept tie or another fun way of breaking it.
Secondly is the issue of how much power the commissioner should have and use. This is as much of an issue in the fantasy world as the real world as many NFL players are questioning these new illegal hit fines being tossed around.
Let's start off with the tie. Due to Carson Palmer taking a knee and the Bengals running out the clock Andre and Ruxin end in a tie which pisses them both off. They turn to commissioner Kevin saying a ruling must be made because the point of fantasy football is to be better then your friends not the same as them.
Because of all the constant crap Kevin is receiving including a video of Ruxin saying his ass could be a better commissioner, which he removed from the message board but we will get to that later, he resigns as commissioner.
Without a commissioner Ruxin and Andre decide to race to break the tie which watching them run is hilarious. With the use of instant replay they decide that Andre did win the race but where did they get the video? That is something you have to watch the episode for because I don't want to give everything away. The important lesson is at the end of the day Kevin proves to them both a tie is ok and they accept the commissioner's ruling.
I personally am against ties, in my leagues we have the higher bench score wins. It isn't perfect but what is? Funny enough we had a tie this past week and the person won because the loser had a bunch of players on their bye weeks so it really was a no contest. I'm willing to accept better suggestions.
The second issue is the power of the Commish. I for one am all for the power. I run 2 leagues and can control everything, unlike Kevin, from posts, team names as well as rules. I can also switch players after games start, I love the power. The key is to not abuse it. Most of the team names are making fun of me, I could care less. The only time I got annoyed is when certain people used my computer to post as me. They have been silienced in the league since. I hear bullshit every year how my choice is stupid and wrong but to bad cause no one else wants to deal with this crap plus hold the money. Kevin can control everything in the league except team names which has a couple pretty funny scenes with everyone changing team names to insult others.
Overall a pretty good episode and as always this season Taco ends in a song. It isn't at Ghost Monkey level but pretty funny because it's a duet with Kevin.
