Welcome to another edition of The Hill. Football is right around the corner with Fall Camp set to start tomorrow. We will have staff on site for eclusive pictures and interviews. Don't forget, unlike other sites, we encourage you to pass this info around to other Vol fans.

It is finally time for football to start and the players are obviously pumped.  They have heard the hype and hope to prove to everyone that Tennessee means business.  The offensive linemen and defensive linemen joke all the time about seeing Daniel McCullers and Antonio Richardson go against one another during camp.  Obviously betting is not allowed, but suffice it to say that there are probably some friendly wagers going on as to how these battles will play out in the coming weeks.

Lots of people in the forum this week were excited to see pictures of Cordarrelle Patterson (among others) wearing a Tennessee uniform during a photo shoot at the complex.  “CP” is chomping at the bit to get out there and perform on a big time stage.

Rajion Neal is another name to watch.  He has really focused on holding onto the ball this summer.  If he can prove that he can do so, he has a chance to be a special player who could end up getting a good portion of the workload this fall.  At the SEC Media days, Ja'Wuan James alluded to the fact that Neal is a monster in the weight room and has been working out some with the offensive linemen.  Neal has separated himself as the favorite to get the most carries this fall as he has been able to make more offseason progress than Marlin Lane due to Lane being banged up a bit.

As was reported earlier today, Andre Lott is out as VFL coordinator. There was a situation that caused this dismissal, but it also presents Derek Dooley with an opportunity to bring in someone who might be a better fit for the position.  Lott handled himself professionally during his time at UT, is frustrated that everything didn’t work out, but still loves The University of Tennessee.  Inky Johnson has been rumored to be a candidate for the position, but that is really more speculation at this point as Inky he has obligations elsewhere.

Another quick note in regards to the staff:  Tennessee brought in an intern that will help with the kicking game, former Wisconsin kicker Taylor Mehlhoff.

Football Recruiting

We continue to feel like Tennessee is in good shape with 4* Athlete Derrick Henry and expect him to be a Vol.  He will be visiting UT the weekend of the Florida game on September 15th.  Henry will announce his commitment in September.

Derrick Henry isn‘t the only prospect that will be in attendance for the Vols‘ clash with the Gators.  5* RB Derrick Green is expected to be here around that date, and Tennessee has certainly not given up on him visiting for the UF weekend.  3* DB Shaq Wiggins, 4* DE DeMarcus Walker, 4* WR Ahmad Fulwood are three more names to watch for that weekend. Tennessee hopes they will all be in attendance.  One final name is 4* WR Stacy Coley.  Though he will probably end up a Seminole, the staff hopes to get him on campus for UF.  We cannot stress enough how big of a recruiting weekend it will be for the Vols when Florida comes to town.  We expect even more names to show up on the visit list for that weekend and will keep you updated as we get closer to it.

While 4* All-Purpose Back Alvin Kamara and Derrick Henry are good friends, we believe that Kamara will end up at Georgia.  For Tennessee to have a shot with him, they would need to get him back to campus.

Another option at RB could be 4* David Williams, who includes South Carolina, Tennessee, and Wisconsin in his final 3 schools.  It will be a fight between South Carolina and Tennessee for him.  Graham likes his fluid hips and his vision. He is elusive and can hit the homerun anytime.

The staff expects 4* DB MacKensie Alexander to visit at some point during the fall. FSU will be tough to beat unless the Seminoles mismanage the Alexander brothers’ recruitments.  Remember that MacKensie’s brother 3* DB Mackenro Alexander is committed there.

4* CB Brendan Langley’s recent commitment to South Carolina was somewhat of a surprise. He struggled at camps, but UT’s staff was high on him. They will continue to recruit him.  Langley’s decision may open the door for 3* DB Cam Sutton. Those two DB’s are similarly rated by the staff.

We continue to feel confident that Tennessee will end up with 3* Athlete Jalen Reeves-Maybin and 4* Juco DT Toby Johnson

The staff is working hard on 4* DT Rod Crayton and thinks he would be a beast on the defensive line.

Finally, this week we have added a board showing our recruit's rankings from various recruiting services. We hope you enjoy it.
