The University Athletic Association announced yesterday that both Gerald Christian and Robert Clark, products from Dwyer High School, will be transferring away from Florida in the hopes of more playing time.

The UAA also release statements from both of the players: “I’m looking for an opportunity to play more. I have no bad feelings about Florida or the coaching staff, I just want to get a fresh start and see the field more," said Christian. Clark also had some nice things to say, “I’ve enjoyed being a part of the Gator program but at the same time I’m excited about future opportunities to play more. I will have nothing but good memories from my time in Gainesville.”

Both players will sit out the 2012 season and will be able to play again in 2013 as red-shirt juniors.

Also of note is that the Gators are very low on scholarship players. The Gators are currently 13 players below the maximum limit in terms of scholarships.

Christian's career stats: four catches for 72 yards and a touchdown.

Clark's career stats: seven catches for 69 yards and a touchdown.
