Sunday Snapshot: Huff, Kouzmanoff, Willingham

Huff

My weekly Sunday Snapshot blog gives me an opportunity to look back on my sleeper picks from the past week and rate their performance.

Aubrey Huff

I told owners to look to Huff as a viable option from here on out in all mixed leagues. He responded by hitting .375 on the week. Over the last seven days, he also added eight runs, four home runs and eight RBI's. Look for Huff to continue to contribute in four categories: runs, home runs, RBI's, and batting average, for the rest of the season. I expect Huff to be a decent corner infield option who can be started in all mixed formats. Huff has the ability and track record to back up his current stats, so go ahead and add him if he is available in your league.

Kevin Kouzmanoff

I recommended the red-hot Kouzmanoff as a one week sleeper. Playing at the deep corner infield position, Kouzmanoff has had trouble cracking mixed league rosters despite a .386 batting average in June. However, Kouzmanoff seems to be coming back down to Earth after his great start to the month. Over the past week he hit .333 with three runs scored, two RBI's and a home run. Kouzmanoff provided a decent value in mixed formats over the past seven days, but I wouldn't rely on him as he cools down. Ditch him for a more favorable corner infield option except in the deepest of mixed leagues.

Josh Willingham

I recommended the streaking outfielder and said owners could hope for little more than a .275 average and a couple points in other statistical categories. Instead, Willingham went stone cold. He hit .200 on the week, slightly lower than his .265 average on the season. He added just two runs and an RBI over the past seven days. Willingham was not the great sleeper option I was looking for, and owners can honestly cut him loose in mixed formats. He doesn't have the background that Huff does, and consequently I don't trust his hot start.
