~~Rapid Fire Sunday …

London at Mississauga

Knights with 63 points – Steelheads with 36.
Stolarz out for a few weeks with a bad leg gash … Patterson’s crease now. Looks like Justin Tugwell is the call up.

Niagara at North Bay

Icedogs with goalie challenges as well – Moran out for 10 days (shoulder).  Youngsters couldn’t handle the speed and skill of AA in Barrie last night – losing 6-2.  Only Sarnia has given up more goals this season than Niagara.
Battalion have points in 3 straight games.  They are #4 in the East – Dogs are #7.

Sault Ste Marie at Owen Sound

The Greyhounds are rolling with a 5 game win streak.  They are #2 in the Western Conference, trailing Erie by 7 points. They are tied with Barrie for the lowest number of goals scored against them.

The Attack needed a powerplay goal from a rookie in the third period to squeak by the last place Kitchener Rangers on home ice last night.  Owen Sound has fallen to #7 since the trade deadline.  They do have some cushion now as the Plymouth Whalers (#8) are behind by 11 points).

Sarnia at Oshawa

The Sting have lost 2 in a row and only have points in 4 of their last 10 games.  Despite being outshot 48-27 at Peterborough last night, the Sting were only a goal down until the last 5 minutes of regulation. Final score was 7-4 in favour of the Petes.  Sarnia is 4 points away from the #8 spot in the Western Conference.

Oshawa might be waking up – they have won 2 in a row and have improved their record to 4-4-0-2 in their past 10 contests.  Their lead in atop the Eastern Conference has slipped to only 3 points over the surging Sudbury Wolves.

Sudbury at Windsor

The Wolves conclude their western road swing with a stop in Ontario.  They won 1-0 game at Plymouth on Friday night and then lost 4-3 last night at Saginaw  They are in second place in the Eastern Conference and have points in 8 of their past 10 games.
Windsor wins !! Reporters haven’t said that in awhile. They unloaded on Plymouth last night 6-2 and looking for some more positive results after a lengthy dry spell.  Their record in their past 10 is 4-5-1-2.

Kingston at Guelph

The Fronts can’t get home soon enough.  They were shelled on Thursday night by the Icedogs 6-3 and then were dumped by Erie by the same 6-3 score.   Kingston was leading 2-0 in the first period at Erie but lost their grip.  They continue to cling to third place in the East – 2 pts ahead of North Bay.
Guelph is on a roll – 5 wins in a row and 9 wins in their past 10 games.  Last night they squeaked by the #1 Otters (that still sounds weird) 1-0.  If the Fronts don’t get some goaltending, the score could easily get out of hand.
