Extreme Torres: Nexus v John Cena 2010

Hello viewers across the world and welcome to the first ever blog from Extreme Torres. My name is Devonte “DJ” Torres and what I will basically be writing for you guys are blogs about Wrestling. Why? Because I love wrestling. I am a huge wrestling fan. This edition will be on a wrestling storyline that I thought absolutely sucked…

The storyline I want to touch on is from the year 2010. That angle would be the Cena v Nexus angle. God how I hated watching this whole thing unfold. It started off great with Nexus interring in the Cena-Punk main event and a couple weeks later attacking Bret Hart and just basically making a statement. However, they would continue to do the same kinds of attacks even attacking Vince McMahon at one point and making an “impact” but they would fall short from being a tremendous stable…

They just never really took off. They end up losing to team Raw at SummerSlam, then Barrett loses in the six-pack challenge, and then to Randy Orton in WWE title matches, not to mention they had John Cena being involved still and getting “fired”. This was all stupid. All this would eventually lead to a Wade Barrett vs John Cena match, at TLC in a chairs match, which once again Wade lost.

If it were up to me, which it obviously wasn’t because I am only 18 years old, I would have booked this angle entire different. They would have interfered in the Cena-Punk match like they originally did but after that I would kept them strong. Cost Cena the title like they did, win the match at SummerSlam, have Barrett capture the title in the 6-pack challenge and from there on he would have entered a feud against Randy Orton and Cena both. There would have been a huge twist though. He would defend the title against at the HIAC PPV beat Cena, have Cena join the Nexus group like he did and do all that embarrassing stuff and NOT take Nexus from the inside. At Survivor Series Barrett could beat Orton clean and retain the title. Then the final match would take place at TLC in a Ladder match, where JC would come out push Orton off a ladder and help Barrett retain thus turning into a full fledged heel. Then you have Nexus being a powerful group.

Barrett should have been a star and in being a star he could have helped Cena’s career because honestly Cena is stale. He knows it just like we all know it. Nexus should have been powerful. Whether or not my storyline is great I think the gist of it is that WWE fucked up with the nexus angle from Summer of 2010.
