If the NBA preseason consisted of only three games, Stephen Lasme may have ended up being a Boston Celtic this season. Unfortunately for him it is not a three game preseason and he was waived following the Celtics final preseason game tonight at the TD Garden.
Along with the news that Lasme was cut from the team, the Celtics also waived Mario West in what was an expected move. West has played for the Red Claws before and would be welcomed back if that is the option he chooses.
The news was first reported by Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe.

We can all hope that Lasme remains in the Celtics organization and chooses to play for the Maine Red Claws. Unless he gets picked up by another NBA squad that may be the best option for the former UMASS star. A problem with his residency status, the same problem that prevented him from traveling to a preseason game in Toronto, would make it difficult for Lasme to play overseas.
