Saturday was a great day for the Gamecocks.
Spring practice ended with the annual Garnet and Black Spring Game played in front of 35,000 Gamecock fans. It also was a day that they landed four-star offensive lineman Bryce King to the mix with his verbal commitment.
Now, you can add athlete Jasper Sasser to the list of commitments for South Carolina as he pulled the trigger this afternoon.
Sasser had been contemplating committing to South Carolina for days now but his mother wanted to see the campus before giving it the okay. I guess she decided to let him go ahead and make the commitment on Saturday as Sasser called the staff and told them he was committing.
This three-star athlete has the ability to play both sides of the football and could line up at either receiver or safety for the Gamecocks starting next year. He hails from Jacksonville, Florida which is an area that has been great to the Gamecocks over the last eight years under Coach Steve Spurrier.
Sasser picked South Carolina over schools like Clemson, Ole Miss, South Florida, Stanford and Central Florida.
He is the sixth commitment for South Carolina in the 2013 recruiting class.
