That's a pic of Winnipeg, although not zoomed in close enough to show the rejoicing NHL fans in that city.
So Mr. Bettman, your finally seeing that hockey in Atlanta and Phoenix is falling like a deck of cards stacked on the belly of a sumo wrestler. The Atlanta Spirit group wants out of owning the Trashers and the deal with Matt Hulsizer keep the Coyotes in Phoenix looks shaky. The league can not own TWO teams Gary, that will make people question you even more than they already do and will look very bad on the league that still has to fight for respect in many US markets. So it's your move who's going to Manitoba? Sure the MTS centre is not the biggest arena in the league but it will be sold out for every single game. The team will be the toast of the town every night making more money in 2-3 seasons than the Coyotes or Trashers could make in over 10 seasons.
If you decide to put one in Winnipeg Gary, there is still southern Ontario wanting another team (ex: Hamilton, Kitchener-Waterloo) or even go to a strong US hockey market like Seattle or Hartford to put the other team in. I would say Quebec but I believe they will get an expansion team once their new arena is ready. The ball is in your court Gary and you can make a very large base of hockey fans happy.
That schedule for the 2011-12 NHL season will be made in a few weeks, the clock is ticking Gary so let us know, who's going to Winnipeg?
