Tonight's episode of "Shaq VS" surely didn't disappoint for those that watched. The episode was everything you could have expected when you put two of the funniest athletes out there on a golf course together. Even before the competition started the two provided some good entertainment when discussing the rules of their upcoming match.
Once the rules were set, a 5 hole alternating shot match with a pro on each side, Shaq went on to take on Joey Chestnut in a hot dog eating contest. Chestunt, who currently has a personal record of 68 hot dogs in ten minutes, was his own team, while Shaq went to the streets to find a team of five to compete against Chestnut.
Once he assembled his team the stage was set in front of the Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. The competiton came down to the final seconds when Shaq threw down the last piece of a hot dog to defeat Chestnut 36-35. In total Shaq devoured eight hot dogs by himself. Let's just hope he plans on working out an extra eight hours before the season starts to work that off.
The win against Chestnut was his first win on Shaq VS so he carried a lot of momentum into his match against Sir Charles. In the 5 hole match, Charles was teamed up with PGA pro Bubba Watson, while Shaq had PGA pro Anthony Kim on his side. The rules stated that the two hoopsters would alternate shots with the two pros.
After tying the first two holes, Shaq missed a very small "gimme" putt on the third hole to give Charles' team a one stroke lead. Shaq's team once again lost another stroke on the fourth hole and went into the final hole down two strokes.
Luckily for Shaq, Sir Charles hooked his tee shot into the water on the 5th hole. This resulted in a one stroke penalty. With both teams putting for a four on the hole Watson missed his putt, while Kim sunk his to force a sudden death playoff hole.
The rules on the playoff hole stated that the two pro's would hit the tee shots and the hoopsters would finish the hole. After both pro's put their tee shots on the green, Barkley missed his putt for birdie opening up the door for Shaq.
After missing a large number of putts on the first five holes, Shaq stepped up and nailed a 30+ foot putt to win the match. As a result, Barkley has to wear a pink "Shaq VS" bikini and run sprints down a beach (that footage was not recorded).
Having watched many episodes of "Shaq VS" I have to say that this one was probably the least rigged. The fact that Sir Charles isn't very good at the game of golf may attribute to that statement.
Next week Shaq will take on Justin Bieber in some kind of singing contest. That should be interesting to watch.
