For Greg Biffle, 2010 turned into a year of ups and downs and getting hot at the right time.

Unlike his teammates he started off the year with six consecutive top 10 finishes. Even with those finishes he was never quite fast enough to contend for the win on a week to week basis.

While his finishes were solid early on he was still being out run by his competitors. After his 10th place finish at Martinsville, Biffle went on to finish 10th or worse in the next five races. Those finishes included four finishes of 17th or worse and dropped him from as high as second in the points to seventh.

The team was still searching for speed and results. At Pocono Raceway, Biffle and his RFR teammates really struggled in practice.

Biffle commented on the struggles following one of the practices. "I thought we'd be better here and I was really optimistic to come here because we'd run good here all the time -- but we're just not that good here [this weekend] and I just don't know why. We're in [the hauler] scratching our heads.”

His up and down season continued but as the series headed to Indianapolis, Biffle and his team hit on something. Biffle was one of the strongest cars all day at the famed track and he finished a strong third.

Just two months after RFR was left scratching their heads at Pocono Raceway, Biffle brought home a win there for RFR.

It was a late pit stop and clean air that helped Biffle score his first win in 2010.

"When you can be in front in clean air, then two tires obviously had the largest advantage, but we probably netted six or eight positions, running order, on the race track before the next pit cycle and at the end you've got to give a shout out to those Pit Bulls. That was a two-tire, gas-only stop that took us from third and came out in the lead."

Biffle was riding high after his win but once again the up and down season continued in the next four races with two top 10’s but also two finishes of 20th or worse.

Biffle made the Chase but it didn’t exactly start off very good with two straight finishes outside the top 10.

He dropped to ninth in the points but as they headed to Kansas Speedway, Biffle and his team were optimistic. Their optimism paid off with their second win and they moved to eighth in the standings.

Biffle and his team would go on to score four more top 10 finishes in the remaining seven races. They finished sixth in standings in 2010.

In 2010, Biffle had nine top fives and 19 top 10 finishes. His average finish was 15.4 and his average start was 15.9. Biffle led 543 laps; spent 52.5 percent of the laps run in 2010 in top 15 and his average running position was 14.7.

Even with two wins Biffle struggled to find consistency every week.

2010 was just another season where Biffle at times looked like a contender for the title but came up short once again.
