It was just yesterday when I was digging around in my closet and found that old, faded, #44 Boston Celtics jersey that I proudly wore during the past three NBA seasons. Unfortunately, now that shirt is just a memory of Brian Scalabrine's days as a member of the Boston Celtics.
Scal has now moved onto greener pastures and will be suiting up in the black and red jersey's that Michael Jordan made famous. He will be playing for a team that I have had deep hatred for since the 2008 playoffs, the Chicago Bulls.
In what I would believe to be an attempt to erase all memories of being in Boston, Scal has choosen to stitch a different number on the back of his jersey this season. He will no longer wear the #44 that we are so used to seeing him wear. Instead, he will one-up MJ by wearing #24.
To me, Scal just doesn't seem like a guy that should be wearing the #24. That number should be left for douchebags like Kobe. Speaking of Kobe, is Scal really trying to get under our skin by switching to Kobe's number? I really hope not.
As many of you know, I was a huge fan of Scal in Boston. If he is going to leave us like this and disrespect Boston, I am going to be very disappointed. All I can hope for is an apology from Scal, or some sort of interview when Scal say show much he loves and misses Boston.
