Marco Scutaro
The Red Sox shortstop, who was signed for his defensive ability, has begun to perform within the offense as well. Over his last eight games, Scutaro is batting .405 with two home runs, seven runs and seven RBI's. He could be a viable mixed league option at the middle infield position while he is on a roll. Scutaro has thrived while hitting in the leadoff spot this season, and he will continue to bat there until Jacoby Ellsbury returns from injury. Expect Scutaro to give you a decent average along with a few runs and RBI's over the next week.
Chris Coghlan
Coghlan is more of a resurgent option than a sleeper. He has regained his stride and looks more and more like the 2009 NL Rookie of the Year each day. Though Coghlan is still a developing player who might not provide the monster week my other sleepers should, he is a player who deserves to be rostered in most mixed formats. He could easily turn up the heat like he did last season when he hit .380 over his last 292 at-bats. Keep a close eye on Coghlan in case this hot streak turns into a second half rebound.
Jose Lopez
The former All-Star has been largely overlooked for the first quarter of the season. Playing on a sub-.500 club, his Mariners are 22-32 on the season, Lopez has struggled, batting just .244 on the year. However, over the past week, he is batting .400 with six RBI's, two homers and three runs. Look for the streaky player to carry his production into next week, but be prepared to drop him for a more favorable option when he goes cold.
