Buster Posey
The stud catching prospect for the San Francisco Giants has just been called up to play first base. Though he will not be playing his natural position with veteran Bengie Molina behind the plate, he will still qualify at catcher in fantasy. That makes him an immediate threat in mixed leagues at a weak position. Posey should play everyday, possibly spelling Molina behind the plate on occasion. He was batting .349 with six home runs and 32 RBI's at the Triple-A level and could easily replicate that production in the Majors. Go see if Posey is available in your league before reading the rest of this article. He's that good; you are looking at this year's Matt Wieters.
David DeJesus
This former prospect from the Royals organization may finally have become fantasy relevant. He offers little power or speed, but his stellar average makes him an intriguing option in mixed formats. Over his past seven games DeJesus is batting .433 while adding six RBI. Add DeJesus as a stopgap option or for a boost in average in mixed leagues, just don't expect him to add much in the home run or stolen base categories.
Brett Myers
I like Myers as a two-start pitcher this week. He has pitched well all year, going deep into games. He has reached the sixth inning or later in each of his 10 starts this season; however, playing in Houston has made it tough for him to secure wins. He has a 3.22 ERA on the year and has quietly accumulated 49 strikeouts over 67 innings. I like his matchups this week against the Nationals and Cubs. If you go with Myers, expect an ERA below four and one win from him on the week with about 10 strikeouts.
