It happens. The 26-year-old lanky Valley Boy had a bad year last year, too. But at least he went 27-22 and reached the third round of the French and Australian slams and the 4th Rd of both IW and Miami. This year, Sam has one good win, and not so good when you look at Ernests Gulbis, the man he beat, slam record. Other than that, Sam lost in the 2nd rounds of both IW and Miami and he's lost on the red clay in Europe in the first or second rounds of the quails. He's currently 9-11 and ranked No. 64.
